This Mother's Day we had an extra special treat of getting out of the city and attending a retreat at Breitenbush. The retreat included lodging, all meals, hot springs, a sauna, yoga, hiking trails and child care each morning for three days. I think this may have to be a yearly tradition!
Ezra got a good snooze in on the way there.
And I busied myself taking pictures while driving.
You can't see it too clearly but there is a gorgeous snow covered mountain between the trees.
We arrived and got settled in to our lodging, the Orchid room complete with gorgeous stained glass windows.
During one of my free mornings I took a five mile hike in the gorgeous Mt. Hood National Forest. There were several makeshift bridges such as the one pictured above.
The bridges crossed over the Breitenbush river, an exceptionally clear and beautiful river.
Another makeshift bridge- thanks fallen tree!
Everything looked quite magical.
Including this tiny orchid! It was about the size of a pencil.
Dew drops on fungus tree growth, you can tell I was really blissed out on everything : )
While I was out and about Ezra was making new friends! Here he is with Simon, a boy who loved Ezra.
Here Ezra leads the boys in search of the giant mosquito.
He's got the best balance- he was the only one who didn't end up with a muddy shoe from falling off this log.
He slept the whooooooole way home!
