Ezra's Grand Influence

You may have noticed in previous photos of the Pumpkin that he has this back fluff element to his hair do. It does no good to brush it, it is permanently vertical. Some love it, some raise an eyebrow, but we have just found for the first time an individual who has adapted it:

Uncanny! They also both like the wind-up bunny, tuna salad, and being close to Kate.

Here's a little video of Ezra at the park the other day. My apologies that I didn't get more of his expression on the way down. It's hard taking a video of something you can't see while flying down a slide with a bundle of bumpkin on your lap!

El Mundo de Ezra Diego

Here's a funny little video of Ezra just be bopping around the house. He's getting sillier. I was just thinking the other day that I need to do more silly things, and he seems to be channeling that.

I don't know if it counts as silly, but I did cut my own hair the other night. Friday, the last day of Spring term at school, I decided enough with long hair. I no longer have to worry about pony tails, braids, brushes, etc. It's my summer do. It'll grow, right?

Strawberry Pickin'

To celebrate my first day of my break from school we went berry pickin'! The strawberries are gorgeous, red throughout, and the sweetest little thangs. I made two pies with them, one a peach strawberry and the other a straight strawberry. I think I'll have a slice for breakfast tomorrow to start out day #2 of vacation. It is so so so nice to have a break and to spend all day with the Ezranator. He's so cool. Here he is in the patches, which he usually doesn't like strawberries but today he was eating a lot of them, you can see the red lips.

The next shot is to show off Ezra's new shorts. Grandma sent them in the package. I think they will fit for the next few days, at least. I think they are hilarious and just watching him walk around in them this afternoon was enough to entertain me. I tried to make a video but it didn't work out, but weather permitting he'll be wearing these shorts in the very near future and I will try to capture the round of his bottom. By the way, he's not upset because of the shorts. He loves the shorts, too. He is upset because he wants me to open the front door so he can stroll down the street and show them off.
No he doesn't have sign language for that, but I can just tell.
Oh and he's wearing his new sandals, too! So cute.

Where are the berries?

Ezra told me with his impressive sign language abilities that he would like some grapes. I didn't have any, but decided to see if blueberries might fit the bill. I gave him a few, continued doing the dishes, and when I looked over the berries were gone. Well, he really likes them let's give him some more. Roughly two dozen berries later I catch him putting a blueberry down the front of his pajamas. Upon closer inspection I discovered this:

First Kiss (on camera)

Maya came over this evening for a little while and we went to the park. Things got a little steamy, as you can see. He was trying to kiss her a lot after she gave in the first time, and had his arm around her in the stroller on the way home. I'm trying to make him a little gentleman about it, but he's a little frisky. Cuddly, I should say. Kissy and cuddly. Awww.

New PJs

Ezra got a package from Grandma today.
He got some really cute new clothes.
Here he debuts his new pajamas.
Oh and when I ask him if he hears the birds, what he does with his hand is the sign language for bird. So smart!

Bromance at the Beach

You remember our good friend Jason. Well, he took us to the beach this past weekend and Ezra had a blast. He loves him! I think it's because Jason shows him how to do things (put brats on the bbq, fold paper airplanes, other manly tasks). Ezra spots Jason from across the room and makes a beeline, using his very effective "Up" to get close to his special man friend.

Jason, Kirsten, Ezra and I headed out Saturday to Yachats, Oregon to visit some friends and breath some salty sea air. Usiah and Kate were there too, and the following video shows the boys frolicking in the surf. Poor Ezra took a couple of dives, but wasn't bothered by it a bit. Water boy.

Motorcycle Tiger Tamer Man

I am sending the above photos to Cristian for Father's Day. We went to this motorcycle shop and took some pictures yesterday. Just as we arrived someone came to drop off the number 72 super old Honda, which I think Cristian will like. Ezra liked the motorcycles, he did not want to leave. We had to leave rather hastily because everybody was talking about this HUGE storm that was coming and that we were supposed to stay away from the windows and hail and rain and ahhh! So we were on the bike and I peddled as fast as I could home, and sure it got a little blustery but really it was nothing. These Oregonians are so funny about their weather. In the winter when it snowed one inch schools would close, all tires had chains, people holed up and wouldn't leave their homes. Now summer storm freak outs as well. Babies.

Our pet tiger scares some visitors to our home. Last week the dog named Molly peed on the floor out of fright. The three year old boy Marcelle wouldn't come into the living room until we removed the tiger. Ezra shows no fear as he tames the beast!
