Slumber Party!

Saturday night Ezra's friend Ely came over for Ezra's very first sleepover! It was so much fun. They have a lot in common, like eating yogurt and wearing their pajama shirts backwards. They also both like to walk in the woods and pretend they're hunting monsters with sticks.
We watched Gnomeo and Juliet and the boys fell asleep snuggled together on the sleeping bag in the living room. In the morning we had pancakes and walked to the park where the boys discovered more shared interests, namely swings and pretending that I am a crocodile trying to eat them.

I will say that Ely gets Ezra to pose for pictures in ways that I have never seen!

So adorable. Love Ely's Lancelot curls. Hope we can do this again soon!

Owt in the Bote

Last weekend we spent some time at Grandma's house. When the rain quit we took out the pontoon. Ezra had so much fun, can't you tell?

Just ecstatic!

The bonfire went over well. Collecting sticks is already a favorite pastime, although he did keep a small collection from the firey fate. And then tried to sneak them inside.

It is amazing how much lovlier the sunset is reflecting upon water rather than ice. A friend of a friend stated that Spring sometimes makes her feel like she's just waken up from a nightmare (shocked/pleased by the new pleasantness). I can relate.

Genius Boy! (uh oh)

Ezra can write the letter A! Can you see it on the chalkboard? It's very accurate! And that's not all the smarts he's got, get this: today at day care they were talking about bees and how they pollinate flowers. The teacher was saying how the bees suck up the nectar through long tube-like mouths. Ezra pipes up, "That's called a proboscis." Isn't that amazing? He learned it from watching a Magic School Bus video, I just can't get over him remembering that random word and interjecting it into the lesson on honey bees. I think I've got a little smarty pants on my hands.

Yes, amazing. Amazing boy, amazing weather, amazing bike ride to the park!

On the way home we stopped at the co-op and scored some pirate's booty cheddar popcorn. Ezra stuffed his face the whole way home.

He did stop for a moment to take in a lovely sunset.

Breathtaking cloud explosion! Would I have even noticed if I were driving in the car? I don't know, but I certainly was able to more fully appreciate it cruisin' on my Huffy. (P.S. Ezra named the bike "Mackerel-Breath")

That Boy

He made this frog hat the other day at day care. Love it! He wore it all over and got very positive reviews. Hopefully there will be more hats like this one soon. The strange blur in this photo is a stick. Man oh man that boy loves sticks! He always wants to bring them in the house too. I find sticks everywhere. Could be worse, right?

Somebody got some new Spiderman goggles (and a new Spiderman shirt- I'm caving to the popular culture temptations).

Showing off that physique!
