Post Ape Caves

After the Ape Caves we found a lovely spot on the Lewis River to play and soak up some sun.

Camping in the Van and the Ape Caves

A few weekends ago we went camping with our neighbor Kate in her sweet 1985 VW camper van. Ez was in heaven! We met other friends at Hideaway Lake, a lovely spot in the Mt. Hood National Forest.

We played Kuub.

We fished and caught crayfish and salamanders.

Kate playing Kuub. You can see the VW van with the pop top in the background too.

Onto the Ape Caves! Last weekend we went to Mount Saint Helens and explored the Ape Caves with friends Liz and Liam.

"The Meatball"

The universe (in a cave?). The fog is from our breathing, it was only 42 degrees in the cave!

Same shot without the foggy breath. What are those green sparkles?

Ez was scared at first but then really enjoyed checking everything out.

Weary spelunkers.

(Some of) Ezra's 6th Birthday Party & Seattle

 It's official: Ezra is 6.
He had a great birthday party this year. It was Halloween theme at the local community center. I was a busy hostess so I wasn't able to take many pictures, but here is Ezra as a storm trooper with Micah, who was one of many Spidermen.

Oliver the knight jumps on the trampoline.

Ben the Mad Scientist cackles.

Max the moustached intimidates.

Ezra and Maya, as herself, show their best photo faces.

Oliver, Silas, Micah, and Ruby watch as Ezra opens his first present of the evening.

On to an abbreviated version of our recent trip to Seattle!
We made a friend! Ezra named it Munch.

Ezra waves, but Munch seems to be distracted by something else on the table...

Us being us.

Munch is wondering why he wasn't in that last selfie.

Munch did end up getting some hot dog bun btw.
